Our cameras tend to empower women in ways that they may not otherwise experience in their personal or professional lives.

For the past 12 years, Revolution Studios has flourished thanks to its focus on the fine art of boudoir photography. Co-owned by Dan and Somer Hadley, this North Carolina studio with seven professional staffers is one of the East Coast’s most popular destinations for glamorous, pin-up inspired boudoir photo sessions. The studio has a regular influx of visitors from across the country who come for a sophisticated, empowering photo shoot experience.

With the popularity of boudoir soaring, Revolution Studios has launched the "Boudoir Revolution Tour" as an affordable way to model in distinct settings across the U.S. It kicked off in Boston recently with a private photoshoot at a five-star luxury hotel. The Boudoir Revolution Tour continues into the fall with sessions in Las Vegas on September 6-7, and in Kansas City on November 9-10. More dates will follow in 2013.

“We receive many inquiries from women who want to celebrate a milestone or perhaps reignite romance in their relationship. We gladly talk through their questions since they’re often curious about the process. Yet, frankly, there is no longer a stigma associated with boudoir for most women,” said Somer Hadley.

“What we’re seeing is that posing for boudoir sessions tends to empower women in ways that they may not otherwise experience in their personal or professional lives,” she said.

Somer noted that locations for the Boudoir Revolution Tour have been carefully selected for their elegance and privacy. This enables participants to feel comfortable in their surroundings and truly enjoy modeling for the camera.

“Women have become more in touch with their desires and tend to treat themselves to memorable experiences,” she said. “A boudoir photo session can leave quite an impression. So, we created this as an affordable escape from the ordinary.”

In fact, the term “boudoir” is derived from a French word literally translated to “pouting room.” It may then stand to reason why this experience has become a popular way for women to express their sensuality and inner strength.

Both Hadleys emphasize that the best boudoir photography sessions result from a photographer who is professional and helps participants feel confident about their experience. Dan encourages those who are curious to simply call Revolution Studios to talk about what to expect.

“You don’t have to be a celebrity to look ‘Hollywood’ for your shoot. We all have insecurities with our bodies and that’s the last thing we want women to worry about,” he said. “We excel in creative posing and lighting to flatter any figure.”
