I've come across so many people who are great at what they do, but nobody knows who they are. Celebstir is a way to change that.

Social media company Celebstir LLC today announced the launch of Celebstir.com, a new social networking website that gives users the opportunity to meet and interact with celebrities through live video chats. The first celebrity making an appearance on the site is Farrah Abraham, star of MTV's hit show Teen Mom. Farrah will connect with fans on August 13th, at 8:00 PM Central.
But Celebstir is about far more than connecting with celebrities. Aaron Carter, co-founder of Celebstir, describes the site as a place where “rising talent” across a variety of creative disciplines can interact with each other and with successful professionals in order to promote their own work. “I've come across so many people who are great at what they do, but nobody knows who they are,” Carter says. “Celebstir is a way to change that.”
Users can create profiles and upload photos, videos, music, and other examples of their work to showcase their talents, projects, and aspirations. The site is designed for creative individuals of all types, including musicians, athletes, artists, comedians, actors and actresses, models, photographers, designers, dancers, and others. These users can interact with each other by choosing to “stir” the profiles of other users. “Stirs” are similar to “likes” or “upvotes” on other social networks. The more stirs a user receives, the more likely it is that he or she will be featured on Celebstir's front page, which lists the top users in each major category—Athletes, Musicians, Modeling, Visual Arts, and Screen and Stage. The front page gives up-and-coming artists a powerful publicity boost, making the home page a core component of the site. Top users are also shown by zip code, allowing individuals to connect with other users nearby.
Fans may create profiles as well to enjoy the creative energy and community of the site, Carter says, even if they don't plan to post art, music, videos, or anything else. “Any artist, athlete, or performer can tell you that fans are a big part of the experience, and in many cases, ideas and excitement shared among fans will shape what the artist does next. We encourage fans.”
Celebstir will host video chats with new celebrities on an ongoing basis, giving artists and fans the opportunity to connect with and learn from top talent. “We want to offer everyone the tools and exposure they need to find success,” Carter says. “If you’re passionate about what you do, this site is for you.”
