Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that new car sales in July rose 9.3% on the same period last year.*

The Ford Fiesta was the most popular car of the month, with 7,533 being sold. Vauxhall Corsa was the second most popular car followed by the Vauxhall Astra and Ford Focus.
Premium cars including Bentley and Porsche have also proved to be in high demand showing a spike in sales. Bentley sales grew by just over a quarter in the same period and Porsche saw a rise of 41% last month.***

The number of new car registrations has increased by more than 40,000 over the first seven months of the year.
