Organizers anticipate hundreds of attendees to converge when the Summer Antique Postcard & Paper Americana Show and Sale gets underway in Springfield, Missouri, Friday and Saturday, August 24-25.

"This summer we have two of the nationally known western states dealers attending, Dennis Goreham from Utah, and Randy Birndorf of Colorado,” said Jim Taylor, show organizer and owner of Courthouse Square Antique Postcards. “That always promises great new material for area collectors and archivists.

“In addition we have dealers from Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Illinois bringing lots of postcards, photos and other historical and collectible paper,” he said. “There should be something for everyone."

The Summer Antique Postcard and Paper Americana show involves buyers and sellers bringing nearly a million antique postcards for sale, as well as buying collections and accumulations. Vendors have original historical photos of Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Civil War, Western Americana, Route 66, Mining, Sports, Political, Maps, Native Americans, Rodeo, Movie, Railroadiana, Oklahoma and Indian Territory, Victorian era, Kewpies, 101 Ranch, and other historical paper memorabilia and ephemera.

Buyers are providing free appraisals of most all vintage postcards, old photographs, and paper ephemera as time allows.

“Early bird” admission is available at 9 a.m., Friday for $5 and covers both days. Regular admission is $3 for both days. Show times are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, August 24, and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, August 25.

The show is scheduled for Lamplighter Inn & Conference Center, 2820 N Glenstone, Springfield, Mo.
