Michael Barber is gearing up for his debut solo album "Thrift Shop to Hip Hop".

Michael Barber signed with Hoopla Worldwide to release his highly-anticipated debut album, "Thrift Shop II Hip Hop" that will be distributed through WIDEawake Death Row / Koch Entertainment (E1 Music). Barber has been recording the material for the past two years in his home recording studio, Aquemini Beach Front Studios, with his in house engineer and producer, Josh Tifer.

Barber co-wrote the massively popular song "Sofa Bed" with Buffalo Stille of Nappy Roots and Jonathan Hay, which appeared on the Audio Stepchild album "Every Coincidence Is Significant" that was also released through Hoopla Worldwide / WIDEawake Death Row. The song was featured on all the top hip-hop websites and blogs across the world with international critical acclaim. The success of the song spawned another version of the single called "Another Sofa Bed" which reached new heights, and was produced by Nottingham, England's very own 1st Blood and Jonathan Hay. The song appeared on Nappy Roots' latest offering "AllHipHop Presents Sh!t's Beautiful" which was downloaded over one million times. The song will appear on the next Audio Stepchild album that is being released through Hoopla Media Group / LRT / INgrooves Fontana. This Audio Stepchild release will feature Michael Barber all throughout the album, as he became an official member of the group late last year.

XXL Magazine contributor, Chad Kiser, spoke about Barber, stating that "every team needs their own Jeffrey Goines so to speak, and we have one with [Michael] Barber."

Michael Bentley of Hoopla Worldwide -- who has been overseeing the release of this project along with artists he brought to the table such as Nyche, King Co, Smoove Gotti -- said, “Barber has is a unique musician who produces and writes his own music. This project, 'Thrift Shop II Hip Hop' is going to be great for the art that Hip-Hop is."

Barber is also busy working on his side avant garde project titled "Illuminati Sky", who also appeared with Sabrina on her “Something Like A Mixtape” release by Hoopla Media Group and DJ Fade that was the last mixtape ever featured on HipHopDX.
