Armor Venue features gads of Roman gear inspired by the epic historical flick "The Eagle." History lovers and re-enactors seeking clothing, armor, and weaponry from this era will find costuming with an added punch in these officially-licensed products.

"The Eagle" chronicles the life of Marcus Flavius Aquila, a young Roman commander whose father disappeared along with the Ninth Legion, a troop that was massacred by British colonists revolting against Roman rule. In the year 140 A.D., Aquila is injured while leading his first battle, compromising his quest to redeem his family’s honor. No longer able to fight, Aquila determines instead to find the eagle standard that was lost along with the Ninth Legion. With the help of his slave, Esca, Aquila embarks on a harrowing journey to overcome the legacy of shame handed down to him. This epic tale captures the look and feel of the days of ancient Rome, as it paints a picture of the fight for honor in the face of insurmountable obstacles.

Among the list of individual items, Armor Venue also offers the Legion Officer Complete Set as a full Roman armor package. Designed to capture the Marcus Aquila style, this set includes:

  •     The Gladius of Marcus Aquila
  •     The Helmet of Marcus Aquila
  •     Roman Commander Vambraces
  •     Roman Commander Greaves
  •     Legion Tunic
  •     Legion Officer Straps
  •     Roman Commander Breastplate

The set costs $100 less than purchasing each separate item. The sword featured – The Gladius of Marcus Aquila – can be exchanged for the Roman Eagle Gladius or The Gladius of Galba. No sandals or boots are included, but both are available for separate purchase.

To complete the picture of a true Roman warrior, Armor Venue also lists the Arena Shield. This piece is made of steel for strength and durability, then plated with brass and antiqued for Roman appeal. The shield measures 16” wide and has a padded backing and single-hand hold, making it comfortable and easy to wield during combat practice. Like all other The Eagle merchandise, the Arena Shield comes with a Certificate of Authenticity as an officially-licensed movie replica.
