we shouldn’t forget about our eternal connection with nature, because we are a part of it, and its laws apply to us.

Katya Romanoff’s new children’s book “Meeting of the Seasons” (published by Trafford Publishing) is a rather unique experience for young readers: a poem spread across beautifully-illustrated pages.

Romanoff’s book conveys the philosophical message of an ultimate victory of youth and life over decay and death, employing universal metaphorical characters of the seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring, depicted as four powerful women. The seasons represent different stages in any life cycle.

“Meeting of the Seasons” asserts that winter, summer and autumn are all powerful and beautiful, and their powers should be acknowledged, but Spring does something revolutionary and vital. Spring is the season that awakens nature from its winter sleep, reviving and rejuvenating all living things on Earth. It is the most inspiring season. Within the poem, spring is representative of youth in one’s life, and, therefore, is the strongest and most victorious of the four seasons.

“In today’s society,” Romanoff says, “we shouldn’t forget about our eternal connection with nature, because we are a part of it, and its laws apply to us.”
