5StarControl discloses secrets of how compelling tales can positively influence local business marketing and generate positive reviews. 5StarControl stated that local businesses will be overjoyed with new marketing strategies that try to establish intimate connections with consumers by employing storytelling techniques to promote their products and services.

5StarControl stated, "Small business marketing is being impacted as never before with the advent of mobile applications (apps) that connect consumers with Yelp and others that allow customers to post immediate feedback about their experiences with local businesses. Because of this, consumers are actually improving small business practices with the type of reviews they post. These reviews have been proven to affect business profits, as demonstrated in a recent Harvard Business School study, for example. Some of the tips 5StarControl has released are recommendations that small businesses incorporate mobile seo into their marketing strategies, increase their attention to social networking sites such as Yelp and Facebook, as well as personal interactions with day to day customers.

In an article posted on August 06, 2012, the MetroWest Daily News reported that many large companies use storytelling successfully to market their products and services, something local business markets have traditionally ignored. By using such tactics as turning company mission statements into marketing ads, posting articles about a business’ profit successes (as Yelp, Inc. did in a press release on Wednesday, August 1, 2012), or taking a more traditional approach that is gaining new life with the advent of social media networks like Yelp – using positive customer reviews to tell a “compelling story” by, “tapping into the emotional reasons that people want the benefits that your products or services deliver,” said the Metro article.

Additionally, more companies are using their mission statements to draw new consumers to their products and services. These ad campaigns are designed to elicit emotional responses in their target audiences, says the MetroWest article. As small local businesses are discovering, drawing new consumers to their products and services is just the first step in establishing and maintaining a positive online reputation. CBS News and other media outlets are raving over Yelp, Inc.’s phenomenal 2nd Quarter success in having a lower loss percentage, and greater revenue than Wall Street anticipated. But in order to truly profit from that success, Yelp itself needs to monitor its own online reputation to maintain business and consumer interest focused on their products and services.

5StarControl agrees with MetroWest’s assessment that emotionally stimulating advertising is a great tool to get and keep consumer attention focused on a company’s products and services. They do warn, however, that local businesses need to carefully monitor their online reputation, or hire a responsible reputation management firm to do it for them, or they could lose business instead of gaining it.

Reputation Management company, 5StarControl, believes that consumer feedback sites like Yelp are essential to local small business marketing, and that the use of other advertising tools, such as ads aimed at eliciting emotional responses from consumers are indispensable to creating and maintaining local business online marketing strategies. In addition to these concepts, 5StarControl recommends businesses study the materials of Frank Kern.
