Lex Products Corporation has expanded its EverGrip® product line with the introduction of EverGrip 7 pin molded Socapex compatible motor control cable extensions. Lex Products’ proprietary EverGrip molding technology provides enhanced reliability and durability when connecting power distribution boxes to hoists in entertainment rigging and scenery conveyance applications.

In 2011, Lex Products introduced EverGrip 7 and 14 pin molded quarter turn motor control cable extensions which won a “Rock Our World Award” for new product innovation from PLASA, the lead international membership body for organizations that supply technologies and services to the event and entertainment industries.

“Following the enthusiastic response to the original EverGrip Motor Control Cable Extensions, Lex Products has expanded the EverGrip product line to provide compatibility with a wider range of devices used within the industry,” said Bob Luther, chief executive officer of Lex Products Corporation, a leading U.S. manufacturer of portable power distribution systems. “As customer needs grow and evolve, Lex Products leverages new technologies and processes to develop innovative solutions that will meet those needs and exceed expectations.”

Features and Benefits:
EverGrip cable assemblies feature a proprietary two-part molding process that encapsulates the interiors of the male and female connectors to prevent spinning and eliminate unmateable or mismatched connections. This construction also encases conductors to avoid short circuits and prevents pins and contacts from pushing back into housing, which helps to extend cable life. The EverGrip process bonds the cable to the connector to provide superior strain relief and maintain secure connections.

An oil-resistant thermoplastic elastomer overmold absorbs impact, protects internal conductors and provides an insulated gripping surface. The overmolded locking ring provides additional impact resistance and a firm gripping surface for mating and unmating connectors. The connectors feature arrows to ensure accurate alignment for mating.

In addition, the flexible strain relief is molded to extend cable life and a supportive wire mesh bus drop cable grip helps to prevent cable stress.

The new EverGrip 7 pin molded Socapex compatible motor control cable extensions are available with 16 AWG, 7 conductor cable or heavy-duty 14 AWG, 7 conductor cable.

Lex Products offers a cable retrofit program where customers can upgrade existing cable assemblies with EverGrip molded connectors. For more information, visit http://www.LexProducts.com/cablerepair.
