Avid 1960's poster collector Andrew Hawley, from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for vintage 1969 Janis Joplin Ann Arbor Michigan concert posters. Joplin played on March 15, 1969 at the University of Michigan. According to Hawley, “The poster was designed by local artist Allan Reid and measures 22x28 inches. It was printed locally on thick cardboard. Reid was a student at the University of Michigan. The Joplin concert posters were hung on campus and at local establishments to advertise the show. The poster is a silkscreen and features very striking colors, and an image of Janis superimposed over the Ann Arbor skyline. Janis Joplin was going through a rough period having received harsh criticism of her latest concerts from music critics. This was the same venue where the Doors walked off the stage two years earlier after Jim Morrison showed up to drunk to preform at a homecoming dance. The concert was a complete disaster.”
Hawley will pay $3,000 cash for 1969 Janis Joplin Ann Arbor Michigan Concert Poster or any other 1966-1970 vintage Joplin concert posters. Any condition would be accepted. Please call 310-346-1965 or email andrew at vintageconcertposterbuyer.com.
