According to a recent study conducted by Billboard Magazine, the chances of making $100,000 or more in the music industry is about one percent, but thanks to the owners of a local recording studio, it’s now possible for aspiring artist to defy the odds and turn their dreams of becoming a star into a reality.
“We are much more than just a recording studio or music production company,” said Alex Morelli, ceo and creative director of Alex Morelli Music, which specializes in music production, supplying recording studios and artist development. “We connect music and business.”
Morelli explained that his studio’s main focus is to assist and help independent musicians, bands, entrepreneurs, and everyone else in between, find direction within the music industry.
The opening of the recording studio could prove to have perfect timing.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, an industry leader in research, tracking, and sales trends, despite a drop in consumer spending for music over the past decade, sales in the music industry are up slightly.
In fact, sales of complete albums, the industry’s most profitable product, reached 330.6 million in the United States last year, a 1.3 percent increase from 2010.
In addition, 1.27 billion individual tracks were downloaded in the United States last year, up 8.5 percent from the year before, and sales of complete digital albums reached 103.1 million, a 19.5 percent gain from 2010.
Morelli noted that his studio consists of a team of professionals who specialize in a variety of areas, giving the studio the ability to supply each client with every aspect of a project.
“From songwriting concepts, video production, marketing, distribution, we have you covered,” Morelli stressed. “We have experience working with major artists in the English and Spanish markets, so we know how to assist independent artists or labels toward achieving their goals.”
Morelli went on to point out that his full-service artist development company currently works with George Nivkor, Pucker Brown and a team of recognized producers and songwriters.
One of those artists is Viva Starr, who Morelli says, has already toured as a headliner across Asia, Europe, and Canada.
“We already have a track record of helping gifted artist get the break they want and need,” Morelli said. “With Pucker Brown, (Trent Reznor, Madonna, Liquid Tension), and Carlos Escalona (Paulina Rubio, Chino Y Nacho), and other great producers, we have the perfect team to help our clients get that radio-ready sound.”
