CleanEdison Inc. Partners with The Energy Conservatory

CleanEdison is standardizing its energy audit diagnostic equipment for its energy efficiency training courses through a partnership with The Energy Conservatory.

CleanEdison has partnered with The Energy Conservatory who has provided sets of energy audit diagnostic equipment, such as blower door and duct blaster systems, to conduct energy audit training and certification testing. Certifying bodies in the efficiency space, such as BPI (Building Performance Institute), have moved to ANSI standards (American National Standards Institute) which have provided further credibility to the industry and certifications. ANSI requires testing to be separated from training, meaning a student’s instructor cannot be the student’s certification exam proctor.

The transition to ANSI, while lending credibility, has caused some confusion among students who might train on one type of equipment but test with a proctor who uses another brand or model. The Energy Conservatory has done the industry a great service by providing CleanEdison sets of the same equipment so that students can train and test with the familiarity of identical tools of the energy audit trade. CleanEdison’s trainers and testing center partners will help aspiring energy auditors avoid one of many possible testing hurdles.
