Health insurance consumers have had a long struggle with understanding the health insurance industry. Now there’s help. HealthCompare, a nationally recognized health insurance comparison site, is releasing e-books in mid-September to help consumers understand the health-insurance industry.

These e-books stem from an understanding that more Americans than ever are reading again with the explosion of the e-book industry. HealthCompare has seen this as a way to reach even more shoppers then before with the affordability and the portability of e-readers since more Americans can now afford new books and carry their books with them.

HealthCompares goal of education through compassion will be demonstrated once again within these e-books. These e-books will serve as a guide to consumers to help them through various stages of life from marriage to divorce, new parenthood to college survival HealthCompare understands and wants consumers to be protected at every stage in life.

Originally, the e-books were scheduled to be released in the beginning of August however due to complications, the publishing dates have been pushed back. The e-books will be released weekly.

This is not HealthCompare’s first attempt at education they began their career path towards compassion with the release of infographics. Infographics are useful online tools that help explain difficult topics. These topics are usually riddled with jargon and industry language is distilled down to data images and colors. Infographics are highly shareable on the web.

HealthCompare knows that health insurance costs far more than just premiums, which is why they chose to help consumers understand healthcare policy needs. They asked site visitors to ask themselves a series of questions. These questions were designed to help them understand what kind of policy is they truly need and what they could actually afford. Using this method many visitors gained a deeper understanding of health insurance and what they were paying for. The questions that they were asked are as follows:

What are the consumers current health care needs? Do they currently require medication? Does the consumer have a pre-existing condition? Or are they seeking to start a family in the near future?

Does the financial state of the shopper allow for a lower deductible, thusly giving them a higher monthly premium? Or would having a high deductible (and therefore lower monthly premium) be more beneficial?

Is the consumer’s physician a factor? If they prefer to continue seeing their doctor of choice, HealthCompare helps them decide what policies allow that.
