iOS App Developers, App Designers and in App Advertisers as well as anyone looking to get into the app industry will all find the new App People Magazine useful. Entrepreneurial Australian nurse Rich Williams seeks support for his upcoming digital magazine that will be available for iPad via Apple's Newsstand. Rich has launched an online crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to produce the first edition of his “App People Magazine”. Rich has been into apps for some time now and he plans to turn his hobby into a new career in digital publishing.
The monthly publication will feature articles that focus on the people who are finding success from developing iOS (Apple) apps and provide insights as to how they achieved their success. The first edition will feature “Appreneur”, speaker and author Chad Mureta on the cover. Chad got into apps after nearly loosing the use of his dominant arm in a car accident he has no technical training so he outsources the production of his apps. Chad has produced 46 apps and has sold his 3 app companies. Chad is now a multi millionaire who travels the world.
Chad recently featured on the 60 Minutes story “The App Revolution” along with Aussie app producer Simone Eyles. Simone will also feature in the first edition of the magazine she developed the 365Cupps app that enables you to order a cup of coffee ahead of arriving at the cafe.
Rich says that with the success of his crowdfunding campaign you will soon be able to download this new publication as an app from Apple’s Newsstand straight onto your iPad and it will be available in multiple languages. Rich’s magazine will be different in that he won’t run the traditional advertising campaign. Rich plans to give service providers the opportunity to publish their story that will be more engaging and interesting for his readers rather then just running traditional advertisements.
Unlike a traditional magazine the articles in the app will have many mediums through which a story can be told using written text, pictures, audio and even video files. This is an exciting and new opportunity for Rich to follow his dream. Rich is confident that his research indicates there is an audience for this new and unique magazine and that iOS App Developers, App Designers and in-app Advertisers will all be able to reach a targeted audience to promote their services to.
So far there has been in excess of 65 million iPads sold in just 2 years. This is an unprecedented number of sales and the app market is huge and continues to grow with an average of 130 million apps downloaded each day. These staggering figures are indicative of the huge popularity of the app industry.
Rich’s magazine is taking a new approach by focusing on the people behind the apps rather than just the apps and their features. This magazine should prove popular reading for anyone inside the app industry, those looking to venture into it or anyone curious about it.
