God is most often conceived as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe. Visualizing the meaning of God in one’s life is in an enlightening picture book titled God: I Am by Susie Suarez Navarro.
What gives one’s life meaning? It certainly isn’t having lots of money, because no amount of money can buy a feeling of significance. Buying new and nice things brings temporary excitement that quickly fades, forcing one to go on looking for the next best thrill. Being famous, attractive, or successful puts one in the spotlight for a moment, but at the end of the day that empty void inside still stirs. Why? Because man was created to have purpose and meaning in life, and the more experiences one has in life, the more deeply the need to discover that meaning and faith is.
In the book, the author teaches children the meaning of having faith in God. His directions are very simple. Love and help others. Feed the hungry, shelter the homeless. Everyone is to use all of the talents and strengths that He gave to achieve this selfless goal. Although one rarely know God's specific plan, one knows just where he is going. God created man for the express purpose of sharing the happiness of His existence.
With vivid illustrations, the purpose of the book is to impart the knowledge to believe in God and to have complete trust in His love and His commands. Being obedient to His commands allows one to receive His grace, which in turn will lead to faith and salvation.
