ModernThink LLC, in partnership with the Chronicle of Higher Education, has released the results of the 2012 Great Colleges to Work For® survey. Now in its fifth year, the program continues to be exceptionally well received even in this challenging economy. Based in Wilmington, ModernThink is an organizational development and human resources consulting firm with particular expertise in workplace quality and employee engagement. In 2008, they partnered with the Chronicle of Higher Education and helped to cofound the program, serving as the survey, research and analysis engine for it.

The 2012 program included 294 participants representing two-year and four-year institutions, as well as small, medium and large sized colleges and universities throughout the nation. With almost 47,000 employee responses, the program had its largest number of questionnaires submitted in its five year history. This year, 103 colleges and universities were recognized in one or more categories, with 42 schools being named as Honor Roll institutions.

Much like any other industry, higher education also faces the challenge of attracting and retaining top talent. Richard K. Boyer, principal and managing partner at ModernThink noted, “In addition to seeing strong participation rates in the program, it is increasingly common to see colleges and universities include workplace quality and employee engagement as part of the strategic planning process.”

Registration for the 2013 Great Colleges to Work For® program is open to all accredited two-year and four-year colleges in the U.S. For more information, visit http://www.ChronicleGreatColleges.com.
