CGL today announced the hiring of Gary Golder as the new director of development services for its Latin America office.
Prior to joining CGL, Golder worked for the U.S. Department of State in Mexico with the Merida Initiative as the Corrections Reform Program Coordinator. While with the Department of State, he played a vital role in supporting the reform of the correctional system initiated by the Government of Mexico. This support resulted in the establishment of a National Corrections Training Academy, the establishment of an Objective classification system, establishment of a central transportation unit, and the Accreditation of 7 Federal Correctional facilities and the National Training Academy by the American Correctional Association (ACA).
“I am pleased to welcome Gary to our team. His knowledge of operations and managerial experience further enhances our ability to serve our customers. Gary will be a significant contributor to CGL’s future growth,” said Buddy Johns, President and CEO of CGL.
Golder’s correctional experience also includes over 22 years in the Colorado Prison System, where he began his career as a correctional officer and moved through the ranks to Director of Prisons. In this position he was responsible for operational control and supervision of over 22 institutions housing 23,000 inmates and 5,400 staff members. He was also responsible for the management and supervision of six private facilities. During his career, he established and strengthened a close relationship with law enforcement agencies and reiterated the correctional community commitment.
