The National Accreditation Alliance of Medical Transport Applications (NAAMTA) would like to recognize Guardian Flight for reaching their two-year medical transport accreditation anniversary.
Guardian Flight is Alaska’s largest air ambulance transport provider, ranging from Ketchikan in the Southeast, to Kotzebue in the Northwest; providing adequate medical care in vastly remote areas is especially challenging. With eight base locations and 13 aircraft, Guardian Flight can easily access patients via medically equipped aircraft throughout Alaska.
The flight teams and support staff at Guardian Flight live, work, and play in their respective areas and contribute to the well-being of their communities is an integral part of the services they provide; offering over 50 community-based programs from 2011 and through August 2012.
Says Program Director, Randy Beltz, “I feel what sets us apart from other transport providers is that our success is based not only on the care we provide our patients, but also in helping to better the lives of our neighbors. We actively support the arts, youth and adult athletics, health related programs, and also activities and events in the aviation field in each of the communities that we represent.
All this is done at local, regional and state levels, with our flight teams and support staff at the helm. I couldn’t ask to be leading a better group of selfless people who truly care about others. The continuous quality care received by patients, our outstanding relationships with medical and aviation partners, and contributions to our communities have helped Guardian Flight reach record flight volume thus far in 2012. We are looking forward to the rest of this year to be just as successful, carrying into 2013 and beyond.”
Guardian Flight’s Accreditation and Alliance membership demonstrates their commitment to quality patient care and a culture of safety. Guardian is utilizing the tools and procedures of “best practice” standards, as per NAAMTA’s Accreditation Standards.
NAAMTA is a medical transport services accreditation organization committed to developing and maintaining “best practice procedures” and establishing a quality culture for patient care and safety, using a quality management system that encapsulates procedures for evaluation and continuous improvement.
In the beginning of 2012, NAAMTA acquired certification of the prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 Quality Management System. ISO certification equates to third-party oversight in NAAMTA’s process, reflecting the drive to provide a quality accreditation program and approaching each audit of medical transport organizations equally and fairly.
NAAMTA’s motto “Partnership for Lifesaving Excellence,” and goals reflect our vision which is
to facilitate an Alliance with Medical Transport Service organizations and existing or emerging policymakers to establish and maintain an accurate and valuable set of standards and target accreditation that promotes EMS community exchange, improved organizational performance, and inclusion into overall industry best for quality care and safety practices.
NAAMTA recognizes Guardian Flight as a valued participant in NAAMTA’s Alliance community and most recent their contributions in this year’s Alliance Symposium. NAAMTA is pleased to celebrate with Guardian Flight its second year of Accreditation.
