Careful and thoughtful financial management will help them bring more great architecture into the world.
Denver, CO (PRWEB) August 15, 2012
Fentress Architects, one of the world’s foremost architectural design firms with a creative portfolio of more than US$27 billion in built design projects worldwide, has appointed Colin Lewis, CPA, to the position of Chief Financial Officer. For more than two decades, Colin has provided strategic financial direction and oversight to growing organizations in industries as varied as healthcare, information technology, and performing arts. Fentress Architects will leverage Colin’s expertise as it continues its unprecedented growth around the globe.
“We work with public and private entities around the world on enormous public projects like airports, research centers, and museums,” says firm founder Curtis Fentress. “When you factor in the growth the firm has experienced, we need professionals who have been around the block, people who understand global finances on a nuanced level. And that’s what Colin brings to the table.”
Colin Lewis’s most recent position was as CFO for Arts & Venues Denver, the organization responsible for US$1.5 billion in assets, including the Colorado Convention Center, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Denver Coliseum, as well as Denver’s entire inventory of public art. In his seven years with Arts & Venues Denver, his strategies changed the way the organization managed assets while discovering new profit centers and areas for growth.
Lewis deep understanding of global financial complexities brought him to the top of Fentress Architects’ list of potential candidates. He began his career teaching IB mathematics to secondary students at the Ecole Internationale de Genève in Switzerland before earning an MBA at the University of Denver Graduate School of Business. Senior financial roles followed with several global companies including Level 3 Communications, Hildebrandt International, Inc., and Arthur Andersen & Co.
“They’re at an exciting point in their history,” Lewis says. “What Fentress Architects offers the world is functional beauty – buildings that redefine whole categories of architecture – all while bringing the projects in on time and on budget. The level of global demand for design like that is staggering. Careful and thoughtful financial management will help them bring more great architecture into the world.”
