Crain Communications today announced a strategic investment in Internet Week New York, the Big Apple’s week-long festival celebrating Internet business and culture.

Crain Communications today announced a strategic investment in Internet Week New York, the Big Apple’s week-long festival celebrating Internet business and culture. Founded in 2008 in cooperation with the City of New York, Internet Week NY has become the world’s largest crowd-sourced Internet festival, drawing nearly 40,000 people in 2012 to more than 250 events taking place throughout New York City. Yahoo! IAC, Buddy Media, Microsoft, Time Inc., Vice and The Webby Awards are among the dozens of top-tier Internet organizations that participate in the festival annually.

Under the agreement, Crain Communications and the Internet Week NY team, led by co-founders David-Michel Davies and Neil Vogel, will grow the festival under a shared vision, with Crain Communications taking the reins of day-to-day management.

In addition to building on the festival’s high-energy spirit and track record for showcasing the latest ideas, trends, and technology reshaping business and culture, Crain will leverage its strong editorial heritage and media expertise to add a robust offering of premium programming and content to the festival’s lineup.

Internet Week NY will take place in New York City in May of 2013.
