We are committed to providing the ongoing support and guidance to help our graduates maintain their sobriety.
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) August 15, 2012
Destination Hope: The Women’s Program, a national recognized gender specific substance abuse and addiction treatment facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has expanded alumni support programming. Additional services such as an intensive outpatient program, alumni events, a women’s program newsletter and an alumni committee help to provide ongoing support to all graduates of the centers addiction and substance abuse treatment programs.
“Recovery, especially early on, can be a struggle for many,” said Ben Brafman, chief executive officer and founder of Destination Hope: The Women’s Program. “Our treatment program does not end with graduation and we are committed to providing the ongoing support and guidance to help our graduates maintain their sobriety.”
As the program has grown, additional alumni support services have been added. In the last year, Destination Hope: The Women’s Program has added an intensive outpatient program (IOP), designed for recent graduates of the residential-style rehab program or those further along in their recovery that need more support, enhanced aftercare treatment and support opportunities, including weekly group and family meetings, and developed women’s program alumni communications such as the newsletter and social media pages.
In addition to faculty lead alumni programs, other alumni lead initiatives, backed by Destination Hope: The Women’s Program, have gotten off the ground. A Women’s Program Alumni Committee schedules bimonthly events and has started a scholarship fund for clients that cannot afford treatment.
“Our female alumni are committed to seeing themselves through recovery and helping others,” said Alton Smith, vice president of operations for Destination Hope: The Women’s Program. “They are dedicated to each other, to the program and to their future.”
Destination Hope: The Women’s Program family therapy aftercare group meets weekly on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. Bimonthly alumni events are listed on the alumni page at Destination Hope: The Women’s Program. Past events include an alumni potluck dinner and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party fundraiser to benefit the scholarship program. The monthly alumni newsletter includes education on substance abuse and addiction as well as therapy information, news and recovery tips.
Destination Hope: The Women’s Program was started as a female only substance abuse and mental health treatment program in 2010. Since that time, the center has graduated hundreds of women into recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.
Destination Hope: The Women’s Program is a full service addiction, drug, alcohol and dual diagnosis treatment facility in Florida for women suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues.
