Author Jack McGlame announces the release of his new novel, “Majik: The Beginning” (published by iUniverse).

“Majik” is based on the board game of the same name which was also created and developed by McGlame. “Majik” presents an engrossing saga within the magical valley of Majik, a land where rules are ancient, beasts guard the barriers, and a struggle for power pushes forward.

The book tells the story of a young Wilhelm Redheimer, nephew to the king and the youngest magistrate of the courts. Wilhelm must sneak away from his castle prison to pursue his interests in a good challenge and magic. All Wilhelm wants is to be free. But freedom comes with its own costs, and Wilhelm must learn the ways of the people of the Hidden Valley in order to realize his dreams. He will soon discover that in the game of magic, all roads lead back to the beginning.

A lush coming-of-age tale, “Majik” combines the adventure of fantasy and the real-life authenticity of a great drama. It’s a pairing McGlame made intentionally.

“Hardship today isn't much different than the hardship of Majik,” notes the author. “Life's struggles often leave us wondering if we're just not playing the game right. My book reflects upon some of the overwhelming circumstances we face each day. Perhaps no matter what the odds or obstacles, our dreams and aspirations only need a little participation.”
