Whisky Leader Dr. Bill Lumsden to Present Glenmorangie Masterclass at First Annual Whiskies of the World Expo in Austin

Profiling Glenmorangie’s prestigious, world-renowned single malt whiskies, industry pioneer Dr. Bill Lumsden will present an extraordinary masterclass, which will include topics such as the Scotch maturation process, wood and cask selection, and aging determination.

During the highly anticipated masterclass, Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Distilling, Whisky Creation & Stock, will guide attendees through a unique, in-depth tasting and educational tour that will incorporate both Glenmorangie and Ardbeg ranges.

Recognized three times as an Industry Leader, Lumsden has garnered multiple awards and accolades for his wood management and exotic finishes and is considered one of the most knowledgeable and innovative distillers in the world.

“It is an honor to discuss the great, yet unseen lengths Glenmorangie goes to, especially at such an esteemed global event and the first of its kind to take place in Austin,” Lumsden said. “I am thrilled to share five of the most exclusive expressions from the Glenmorangie range.”

The Whiskies of the World Expo and Artisanal Spirits Fest in Austin, the first whisky festival of such grandeur to take place in Texas, will showcase a selection of whiskies and provides classes from reputed whisky connoisseurs and celebrities. During the event, Glenmorangie will taste seven expressions including the Extremely Rare 18 Years and the Signet, both of which were awarded the Double Gold during the 2010 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Ardbeg will feature three expressions: Corryvreckan, Uigeadail, and the 10 Years Old.

Master Brand Ambassador David Blackmore and Central Region Ambassador Gregor Mina will both be present at the booths to represent the brands. A native of Scotland, Blackmore was named the 2012 Scotch Whisky Ambassador of the Year by Whisky Magazine.
