Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) August 16, 2012
Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Texas State Technical College.
Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is the only state-funded technical college system in Texas. TSTC has more than 12,000 students on all campuses with 5,000 students at the main campus in Waco, Texas. TSTC’s SCADA system will be used for the Smart Grid Technologies discipline and SCADA Communications sub-discipline in the Telecommunications Group, which consists of 700 – 800 students. There are IEDs from other manufacturers, SEL and S&C, as well as Survalent’s SCOUT RTU, connected to the SCADA system.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Worldview, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel.
“We welcome Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas to the growing family of Survalent users,” states Mike Roth, Vice President of Sales for the Central United States. “The Survalent SCADA system will be an important tool used by TSTC in the education of the future technical users of Smart Grid Technologies in the electric utilities for the State of Texas”.
