Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) August 15, 2012
Just this past week, top Philadelphia electrician, Thomas Edison Electric, released guidelines to help aid homeowners when it comes to preparing for a power outage in Pennsylvania. All of the electricity running through a home can put a lot of stress on home wiring, as well as on the electrical panel.
Power outages are not out of the norm here in the United States, and if much of the United States is powering their homes with an air conditioning unit this summer, imagine if one were ever to occur? If a person has some essentials and knowledge of what he or she should be doing during a power outage, the person will be in a much better spot.
Common sense for most, but not for some, following are some tips this premier Philadelphia electrical contractor suggests a person consider before a power outage, and if one ever were to occur in his or her home:
1. Make sure to have enough spare water or water bottles around at all times. Water will always be essential to anyone’s well-being and health, especially if there is a shortage of food.
2. Keep food in the refrigerator and freezer during the duration of the power outage. Keeping the doors closed will also keep the food cold for much longer.
3. Keep plenty of spare blankets, flashlights, and spare batteries around at all times.
