SFGate.com Sets Monthly Record for Unique Visitors

Unique visitors reached 16.3 million in July 2012 with over 142 million page views

SFGate.com was visited by a record-setting 16.3 million unique users in July 2012 as visitors came to the site for local news, entertainment and staff blogs. According to Omniture Site Catalyst, these users viewed more than 142 million pages during the month. The previous record for monthly unique users was 15.2 million set in March 2012.

Mobile usage of the site also continued to grow with a monthly-record 6.2 million page views from users accessing the site from a mobile device.

“SFGate.com continues to be the most trusted online news source in the Bay Area, as evidenced by the increase in unique visitors during July,” said Mark Adkins, president of the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGate.com. “SFGate routinely offers a breadth of news, updates, features, photos and reader interaction not matched by any other local news site.”

SFGate.com consistently ranks as the most-visited news website in the Bay Area. It is also among the Top 10 U.S. newspaper sites in overall traffic.
