Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 16, 2012
Transitioning to the operating room – the first step is Key. Founded in Houston, Key Access Institute, LLC (Key) offers surgical-focused educational programs and seminars to students and medical professionals from across the city and around the world. After multiple suggestions and feedback from renowned hospitals in the Houston area, Key has developed the first ever, Fundamental Operating Room Clinical Education (FORCE) seminar. Geared mainly for registered nurses and graduating nurses seeking to become Certified Nurses Operating Room (CNORs), this 12-month seminar teaches skills and knowledge needed to scrub and circulate in the operating room (OR). Besides being a valuable educational stepping stone for individuals, FORCE can benefit facilities by saving time and money related to employee education.
More about FORCE:
FORCE was developed for RN’s, LVN’s and graduating nurses ready to specialize in the operating room as well as CSTs interested in learning the fundamentals of circulating in the OR. Level 1 of the seminar is composed of 8 weeks of lectures, demonstrations and competencies. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, with Fridays as an optional make up day. Level 2 is composed of 40 weeks of clinical rotations at affiliated Houston area surgical facilities where students learn under the supervision of preceptors and instructors. Students will be scheduled in facilities Monday through Thursday. Fridays are reserved for facility review and testing.
FORCE is designed to relieve facilities of the time and cost burden associated with training employees and may compliment, enhance, or even replace similar training programs facilities have. Facilities may see a reduction in attrition as they are providing employees with the skills, ability and value to grow and succeed throughout their organization.
For students and those interested in learning specialized perioperative skills, FORCE provides comprehensive classroom education coupled with hands-on practice with preceptors and instructors who are knowledgeable professionals with years of OR experience. All students graduating from this program will be Key in the OR.
