Family Classic Cars Ventures, LLC announces the launch of the newest entry into the burgeoning Alternative Asset Class investment sector, Family Classic Cars Fund I, L.P., with plans to raise up to $120,000,000 for investments in classic cars. The Southern California-based Fund, intends to begin an aggressive campaign to acquire investment grade classic cars starting in the fourth quarter of 2012

The Family Classic Cars Fund I, L.P. will purchase its assets primarily from private collectors and other sources from around the world but may also acquire vehicles at highly publicized public and private auctions. "The launch of Family Classic Cars Fund I, L.P. is perfectly timed in the market place. Investors now have a way to capitalize on their appreciation and passion for classic cars,” said Marc Spizzirri, a classic car industry veteran and consultant to Family Classic Cars Ventures, LLC.

The Historical Automobile Group (HAGI), which tracks and publishes comprehensive data on collectible car sales, reported that the HAGI Top Index category of exceptional historic automobiles showed an increase of 29% between January 2009 and February 2011. Additionally, classic car investments have dramatically outperformed the S&P 500 over the last three decades.

"The tremendous growth of the classic car collecting industry and the notoriety generated by the many televised auctions, shows that there is a passion for the vehicles of yesteryear.” said Paul Charles, the Fund’s Manager. "Our philosophy is simple: Have the discipline and insight to acquire the right assets using 90 percent of our brain and 10 percent of our heart.”

Investments may range from Pre-World War II era cars to muscle cars of the 1970’s with individual valuations estimated to be between $10,000 and several million dollars. Both public and private owners may be engaged to create a diversified portfolio of vehicles for the Fund.
