Visitors To Myrtle Beach Make Vacation Plans With A Little Help From Above

Ever wanted to soar in the clouds and get a bird's eye view of all the activity below? By seeing the lay of the land and all there is to do, it sure would make planning a Myrtle Beach vacation easier. Helicopter Adventures does just that by offering flights from Broadway at the Beach, located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. See and learn all about what Myrtle Beach has to offer, making it easier to decide which entertainment options will be on the "must see/do" list. Tours start at just $20 per person for a two-mile adventure.

Helicopter Adventures opened this summer and it is the first in the nation to be an integral part of a shopping, dining and entertainment complex. It offers a variety of tour packages with each tour's cost dependent upon the length and distance of that tour. Ranging from two miles to 52 miles, flights will go almost to the North Carolina border.

Depending on the tour, visitors see some of the most desirable sites along the Grand Strand. Some of the landmarks include the SkyWheel, located on the northern end of the Oceanfront Boardwalk; historic Pine Lakes Golf Course, the Birthplace of Sports Illustrated; shopping, entertaining, and dining meccas, Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing; North Myrtle Beach, where “The Shag” dance was born on Ocean Drive; and of course the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

Visitors can park the car at Broadway at the Beach and catch a free shuttle service, provided by Helicopter Adventures. The shuttle transports visitors from the core of Broadway at the Beach to the launch site located on the western side of the complex, across Hwy 17. Tickets are available at the launch site and at kiosks within Broadway. Shuttle stops are on the north side of Broadway at the Beach near Dragon's Lair Mini-Golf Course and on the south side near Landry's Seafood restaurant. The free shuttle service runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The helicopter fleet includes five Robinson R44s, an A Star (350BA) and a Eurocopter (BO-105). Passengers enjoy comfortable seats and photo opportunities of the scenery from the large windows. Each passenger is equipped with noise-reducing headsets with microphones to enable them to communicate with the pilot, as well as other passengers.

A tour with Helicopter Adventures makes vacation planning easier. It's a safe, comfortable and entertaining way to start a Myrtle Beach vacation off right.
