iMedia Communications announced today that voting is now open to determine the Presenting Finalists for iMedia’s 2nd Annual Next Wave Start-Up Challenge and Showcase at iMedia’s Breakthrough Summit October 14-17 in Austin, TX.
Next Wave’s 2012 focus is on highlighting early-stage technology companies redefining the mobile marketing industry. Nominated companies have been culled to 27 companies from a pool of hundreds, as determined by iMedia’s Next Wave Advisory Board to participate in Phase III, (community voting) of the Challenge.
Participating companies by category can be viewed on iMediaConnection.com and are as follows:
- Mobile Entertainment: CityMaps, Everloop, excitEM, Gravity Jack, iMediaShare, Mimiboard, SeeMail, Showyou, Vidyard;
- Mobile Shopping and Commerce: AirPay, Embodee, FlightCar, good2gether, HipSwap, Pogoseat, Point Inside, Revel Touch, Rumgr;
- Mobile Campaign Management and Analysis: Adelphic Mobile, App-Promo, Appsnack, Crosscliq, Media Armor, Placed, SceneTap, SecondScreen Networks, ThinkNear.
Phase III voting hosted on iMediaConnection.com runs August 15 through August 31 and will determine 12 Presenting Finalists who will showcase their company live in Austin. At the summit, industry attendees and advisory board members will vote for a winner in each category to be featured during a Next Wave Awards Dinner Tuesday evening, October 16.
Next Wave Advisory Board members include: Matt Doherty, mobile director, FRWD; Dave Knox, chief marketing officer, Rockfish and co-founder, The Brandery; Scott Kveton, chief executive officer, Urban Airship; Tricia Nichols, global lead of consumer engagement, media innovation & partnerships for The Gap; and Gordon Paddison, chief executive officer, Stradella Road.
Last year’s inaugural Next Wave competition highlighted a number of emerging start-up companies in the digital marketing space, including winner of the Brand Awareness and Engagement category, Viddy.
