Military Senior Resources, a free referral service for senior veterans and their families, recently announced that they are hosting an upcoming Veteran Benefit and Resource Expo. The expo will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until noon in the Community Room at the Church of Reconciliation in San Antonio. The expo gives veterans an opportunity to discover their health options and features presentations on topics such as keeping healthy, fall prevention, moving, Veteran Benefits and planning for the future.

"Most senior veterans and their spouses want to stay in their homes as long as they possibly can," said Lynn Franklin of Military Senior Resources. "We are hosting a free community event for information on how to do just that! Find out what options you have when your health is beginning to decline. Military Senior Resource providers will have information for you to take home. They will also be providing short presentations throughout the morning about relevant topics."

The event will also offer complimentary refreshments from local restaurants such as California Pizza Kitchen, Krispy Kreme and more, and will feature a special guest presentation by Alamo Honor Flight, a nonprofit organization that takes the WWII veterans to see their monument in Washington at no cost to the veteran. Church of the Reconciliation is located at 8900 Starcrest Dr. in San Antonio.
