Podiums are no longer enough; we need wins now!
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 16 August 2012
Tom Ingram has vowed to redouble his efforts to clinch the Ginetta GT Supercup crown in 2012 after cruel misfortune cost him victory and a hatful of points in the sixth round of the campaign at Snetterton; “I’m not sure why, but I’ve never really seemed to have any luck at Snetterton, It’s a shame, because it’s a really cool track to drive. It’s just that every single time we’ve been there, something has gone wrong...” Tom Ingram.
During the first lap on the second race Ingram made an unbelievable start – taking the lead from second on the grid, establishing a 1.3 second advantage over the rest of the field. However, this was short lived as the talented driver ran into engine trouble… “The team worked ridiculously hard again to change the engine in time for race three, which I would begin plum last. I spoke to my KX Akademy mentor Jason Plato about my tactics, and I was really fired-up for it; I told him I would just have to ‘do a Plato’ and fight my way through from the back!” Lapping comfortably quickest, the talented driver produced a fantastic performance to finish 5th at the flag after starting in 17th place.
Tom Ingram’s next race is at Knockhill on the 25th/26th August where he plans to come back fighting, stating: “Podiums are no longer enough; we need wins now – and lots of them!” The entire SKYCIG team will be making the trip to Knockhill to support their talented sponsored driver in his quest to win the Ginetta GT Supercup G55 class.
UK Commercial Director Damien Scott said; “Knockhill is a long way from High Wycombe but we are going to make the weekend of 25/26 August feel like ‘home advantage’ for Tom and the team by cheering him on to victory. It is SKYCIG’s home race and the team are thrilled to have the opportunity to attend. Tom told me Knockhill was one of his favourite circuits so I’m very optimistic about his chances.”
