Management Concepts Press announces the publication of the second edition of Practical Project Risk Management: The ATOM Methodology, the practical guide to correctly managing risk in projects.

Just as in the first edition, Practical Project Risk Management emphasizes minimizing the threats and maximizing the opportunities to optimize achievement of the project goals. The ATOM (Active Threat and Opportunity Management) Methodology is a simple and scalable approach that can easily be applied in a real-world environment.

In this revision, the authors, Dr. David Hillson and Peter Simon, have added a new chapter on applying the methodology to managing risk in programs. They have also made revisions in this edition that more closely align the methodology to relevant international standards. Updates to allow the methodology address a wider range of issues have also been incorporated.

The authors’ strong background and years of experience in project management add to the book’s practical approach.

Dr. David Hillson, PMI Fellow, FRSA, HonFAPM, FIRM, FCMI, is an international risk management consultant and Director of Risk Doctor & Partners. He was a recipient of the 2011 PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Excellence Award.
