Navy plebes join Navy Federal for "Navy Night" at the Bowie Baysox Stadium.

On Friday, August 3, 2012 over 1,200 plebes from the U.S. Naval Academy class of 2016 were the honored guest of the Bowie Baysox and Navy Federal Credit Union for the 12th annual “Navy Night” ball game and fireworks celebration at the Bowie Baysox Stadium.

To begin the night’s festivities, Rear Admiral (RADM) Annie Andrews brought down the house with her rendition of the national anthem accompanied by the U.S. Navy band. Cheering cadets all around also had the opportunity to root for one of their very own, who along with retired RADM Steven Romano, executive vice president, Branch Operations, threw out one of the first pitches to begin the game.

“Even though the Baysox lost to the Trenton Thunder 10 to 6, it is a night that each cadet will always remember and that’s really why we are all here,” said Cutler Dawson, president/CEO Navy Federal.”

Navy Federal brought a contingency of senior management and board members from headquarters in Vienna, Va., and their families to be a part of the evening.

“Everything we do is for our members. The plebes are working so hard all day long. It feels great to give back to the men and woman who are about to give so much of themselves by serving our country.”
