Being in business for 25 years has been a tremendous blessing, and we feel fortunate that we’ve been able to help so many small and independent recruiting firm owners enhance their business and build great relationships with their peers.

The recruiting profession is one of the more unique professions in the U.S. capitalist economy, for a number of different reasons. While the financial payoffs can be significant, the job is not an easy one, and because of that, the attrition rate is quite large.
Despite the fact that many recruiting firms go out of business each year, Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary early next year. To help celebrate that anniversary, the Network will be holding its annual national convention at the TradeWinds Hotel in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Top Echelon Network was founded in 1988 by Mike Kappel and Mark Weinland in Canton, Ohio. The company was originally named Nationwide Interchange Service, but that name was changed to Top Echelon Network in 1998.
Top Echelon Network helps recruiters generate more revenue for their firms by providing them with the tools and resources they need to make split placements. (In a split placement situation, one recruiter has the job order and another recruiter has the candidate, and the two split the placement fee once the candidate has been hired at a company.)
The official anniversary date for Top Echelon Network will be March 8, 2013. The network’s national convention will be held the following month, during the last weekend in April. Coincidentally, Top Echelon Network held its first national convention at the same venue in 1990.
According to Top Echelon Network President Mark Demaree, it’s only fitting that the location of the 2013 convention is the TradeWinds Hotel.
“We’re looking forward to a great event,” said Demaree, who’s been at Top Echelon Network since 1999. “Being in business for 25 years has been a tremendous blessing, and we feel fortunate that we’ve been able to help so many small and independent recruiting firm owners enhance their business and build great relationships with their peers. The TradeWinds is the perfect venue for our 25th anniversary year.
Top Echelon Network has endured a number of economic recessions and recoveries since it was founded, and Demaree expects the network and its recruiters to continue displaying such resiliency.
“We’re excited about doing everything we can to help recruiters build their business, not only throughout all of this year and 2013, but for many more years to come.”
