For the first time ever, The California Women’s Conference invites tween and teen girls to join this event with the support and partnership of BYOU, a self-esteem and lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering girls and women through positive messaging, apparel and accessories; education programs and editorial magazine.
Celebrity speakers, influential thinkers and successful entrepreneurs join together for the largest women’s conference in the nation, The California Women’s Conference - now in a lasting partnership with the girls’ self-esteem brand BYOU (Be Your Own You).
"As the new President of BYOU, it is an extraordinary opportunity to be a part of this conference; not only for myself as a 23-year old entrepreneur, but for the brand BYOU. I feel so blessed and am ecstatic to see the incredible impact we will have on girls and women at this year’s conference and future events," said Emily Rehm, President of BYOU.
This year’s forum hosts an exhibit hall featuring “streets,” where women and girls can shop from more than 250 vendors. BYOU is producing a street dedicated to tween and teen brands and related products. BYOU will also host a panel of teenage speakers addressing girls’ self-esteem, Internet and technology safety, empowerment, bullying, body image and more. The street will also include fun interactive activities for all attendees.
Companies interested in exhibiting on the BYOU street during the California Women’s Conference are encouraged to act quickly as space is limited.
The California Women’s Conference, which is an internationally acclaimed forum for the world’s most influential voices, hearts and minds, will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center on September 23-24, 2012. About the California Women’s Conference - The predecessor of the California Women’s Conference (CWC), namely the California Governor & First Lady’s Conference on Women was an annual non-partisan event, and was created in 1985 by then-Governor George Deukmejian, to address the high failure rate among women-owned businesses by giving women entrepreneurs greater access to funding and other helpful resources. Selecting the city of Long Beach as the event’s host, city officials and businesses quickly became enthusiastic supporters. Then-First Lady Gloria Deukmejian assumed responsibility for the conference, which became known as the California Governor and First Lady’s Conference. Since then, the CWC has always attracted a highly respected and celebrated list of speakers. Today, the tradition of enthusiastically serving women-owned businesses continues under the stewardship of Michelle Patterson, CEO of EventComplete.
