Minnetonka, MN (PRWEB) August 19, 2012
A pair of Minnetonka chiropractors are educating area children on the vital difference between dangerous processed foods and nutrient-rich whole foods.
Peter and Natalie Gianforte took their simple, yet powerful message to a local Montessori school to demonstrate the importance of quality foods for a school-hosted event titled “Olympic-level Nutrition.” The event reached children between the ages of two and six.
During the presentations, children learned to distinguish between man-made foods and quality, unprocessed whole foods. More importantly, they learned how the natural foods can help them grow.
Some of the more basic concepts explained the respective relationships between celery, eggs and carrots and healthy bones, joints and eyes. The children also constructed a model of the human body using only healthy, whole fruits and vegetables.
The following day, each student must bring in a healthy, whole-food snack and then—for the older children—explain how that particular food helps their bodies.
“Teaching children about quality nutrition at a young age helps them develop good habits that allow them to grow into strong, healthy adults,” Peter Gianforte said.
The Gianfortes own and operate a Maximized Living Health Center in Minnetonka. The nutrition plans they’ve been teaching make up a core portion of the Maximized Living whole-body health system, which focuses on the importance of preventative health care.
Each child was given a recipe for a healthy shake and a flyer for an upcoming Maximized Living advanced wellness workshop to be hosted at the Gianfortes’ clinic.
