GigaSpaces Experts Speaking at NoSQL Now! 2012

GigaSpaces Technologies, a pioneer of next-generation application platforms for mission-critical Big Data applications, is speaking at two sessions during the upcoming NoSQL Now! event on August 21-23 in San Jose, CA. GigaSpaces is speaking about how to make it easy to process streaming events in real time, and gain business insights even from the largest data sets, without giving up on technical business needs such as scalability, reliability and security.

Session #1: Real-Time Analytics for Big Data – a Twitter Case Study:
This session will teach participants how to build a Twitter-like analytics system, designed to meet real-time needs, in a simple way, using frameworks such as Spring Social, Active In-Memory Data Grid for Big Data event processing, and NoSQL database.

  •     Speaker: Nati Shalom, GigaSpaces founder and CTO
  •     Where: Conference – Big Data, Business Intelligence and Analytics tracks
  •     When: Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM

Session #2: NoSQL without Compromises:
This session will provide an overview of how GigaSpaces XAP in-memory technology is being integrated with disk-based NoSQL stores. The result is a platform of awesome power, blending in memory speed, ACID transactions, and real-time event processing with horizontal elasticity of both processing and data.

  •     Speaker: DeWayne Filppi, GigaSpaces Technical Account Manager
  •     Where: Conference – NoSQL Products and Services track
  •     When: Tuesday, August 21, 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM

GigaSpaces solution for real-time processing of Big Data is founded on the idea that in today’s business world, information moves fast, and businesses need the right tools to keep up. Big Data stores (such as Cassandra and MongoDB) and processing frameworks (such as Hadoop) provide excellent answers for some of the needs, but not all – compromising either on real-time processing, or eventual consistency. GigaSpaces works with all existing Big Data technologies to provide all the requirements for Big Data analytics: speed, consistency, reliability, scalability, and transactionality.

About NoSQL Now!:
NoSQL Now! is an educational conference and exhibit focused on the emerging field of NoSQL technologies. NoSQL (Not Only SQL) refers to the new breed of databases that are not based on the traditional relational database model, including document stores, key value stores, columnar databases, XML databases and graph databases. The NoSQL Now! Conference is designed to educate developers, data managers and architects on how these new technologies work, the applications they are best suited for, and how to deploy them. The first NoSQL Now event in August 2011 attracted 514 people, and the upcoming 2012 event is expected to draw almost 1000 attendees. Additional details are available at
