We’re really taking the event to a new level to help mark the two important milestones

The annual Oakhurst Fall Festival is set for October 13 and 14, and will be celebrating a pair of milestones by enhancing many of the offerings.

In addition to being the 20th year for the Fall Festival, which merged with the Oakhurst Wine and Chocolate Festival several years ago, the event will continue to mark the community’s celebration of its centennial.

“This is an important year for the town and the event,” said Todd Miller, chairman of a committee of the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce putting on the event.

“We’re really taking the event to a new level to help mark the two important milestones,” he said.
Several mountain area restaurants will be on hand offering samples of their signature creations. They will also be selling larger portions should someone decide to make a lunch of something they just tried. Also on hand will be various booths showcasing decadent chocolate creations.

“The chocolate aspect is always a popular draw for people, everyone who’s anyone will be there. You can’t go wrong with chocolate,” said Miller.

Various regional vintners will also be on hand offering samples of their wines, as well as cheese, nut and other vendors.

“The event will really showcase the products that are grown and produced throughout our area and give both visitors and residents alike the chance to connect with these local products,” said Miller.

The Children’s Museum of the Sierra will also be hosting an array of activities for kids, such as spin art, face painting, art projects and more. There will also be a pony ride.

To further add to the spectacle, there will be over 100 Corvettes on display Saturday, with another car show planned for Sunday.

The Oakhurst Fall Festival opens at 10 am both Saturday and Sunday, and runs until 4 pm at the Oakhurst Community Park.

Admission is $2 with tasting/activity tickets costing $1 each. Kids 12 and under are free. In addition, special VIP Packages are available that come with 2 adult admissions, 2 Centennial Wine Glasses and 20 sample tickets for $30, a $10 savings.

The Oakhurst Fall Festival is presented by the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce and the Wild Wonderful Women. For tickets or more information, contact the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce at 559-683-7766.
