The Southern Baked Candle Co, an artistic custom candle shop in Columbia, South Carolina, recently announced that it will be hosting author Cynthia Boiter for an upcoming book signing on August 23rd. The author will read excerpts from her recently released collection of short stories, Buttered Biscuits: Short Stories From the South. The book signing is sponsored by Jasper Magazine and Muddy Ford Press and wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Buttered Biscuits is an award-winning collection of 14 fictional stories, which address the major issues and social themes of 20th century family life in the South- love, birth, death, and growing up. The stories primarily focus on family relationships from an authentic Southern feminine perspective. The book signing signals another step in Jasper Magazine's success in promoting the the literary arts scene in the Columbia area.
