Mesa, Az (PRWEB) August 19, 2012
Southwest Spas, the premier Dimension One Spas dealer in the Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona area selling new and used hot tubs is proud to announce that it has published a stress reduction guide. According to a recent study published online by the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, U.S. Stress levels have increased 18-24 percent since 1983.
“Regardless of how well we think we are doing in terms of managing pressure from work, school or family, we are not succeeding,” said Melinda Dalacas, manager of Southwest Spas. “Stress in America has become huge issue, which is why we have put together a list of easy ways to control it. Here are three examples of how to reduce stress that are easy and effective,” continued Dalacas.
Prioritize and Learn to Say “No” - In many cases, it’s possible to more effectively control stress simply by eliminating some of the unnecessary tasks on the daily “to do” list. While it’s often difficult to turn down requests from a friend or colleague, it may help people identify their limits. Learning to prioritize time can make completion of daily activities easier, helping people cope more effectively with more important tasks. Prioritizing time and making a point to say no occasionally will leave people less stressed and better equipped to handle the truly important responsibilities.
Explore Meditation - For centuries, people have been using meditation to calm the mind and relax the body. An easy and effective way to lower stress levels, mediation is easy, free and can be done almost anywhere. Basically, mediation is a form of concentration, where people learn to focus the mind, clearing away negative feelings that create stress. Meditate by sitting quietly and breathing slowly in through the mouth and out through the nose. When exhaling, visualize the worries, fears and anxieties that are bothersome. When creating this mental picture, allow them to float away. Repeat this process until you feel better.
Use a Hot Tub - A hot tub is a terrific way to reduce stress instantly, but also helps with a host of related health problems. Just twenty minutes a few times a week relaxes tension in the neck, back and anywhere the body feels tight and stiff. For stress that is temporary, hot tub relief is immediate, leaving soakers refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to face what lies ahead. And for stress that has developed into chronic back or neck pain, consistent use of a hot tub even three times a week will reduce knots, improve overall mood and prevent stress from developing into more serious health problems.
“To help educate Mesa residents on how portable spas, hot tubs and swim spas can help ease stress and improve your overall health and well-being, Southwest Spas will provide free hot tub test soaks during the entire month,” commented Dalacas. “We want to encourage local residents to check out the benefits of a relaxing soak in the soothing waters of a hot tub for themselves.”
