The Irvine Micropreneur Program, a webinar series sponsored by the Irvine (CA) Chamber of Commerce, hosts “Leveraging the Female Advantage in Business: What entrepreneurs can learn from the rise of women-owned businesses” by author and speaker Joanna L. Krotz on Thursday, August 23rd 2012 at noon PDT. The webinar will be presented in partnership with Business on Main, an online destination for small-business leaders, sponsored by Sprint in collaboration with MSN.
“It’s time to update our idea of an entrepreneur. Popular images may still skew toward risk-taking, egocentric, take-no-prisoners males, but it’s women who are more likely to be starting businesses these days,” says Krotz. “The number of women-owned businesses has been growing faster than the rate of all businesses, with a 54% rise in women-owned companies since the late 1990s.”
This webinar will help all entrepreneurs understand why the unprecedented rise of women owners reflects key trends for small businesses, and how you can benefit by incorporating gender-based strengths that drive greater success in today’s economy. In particular, this webinar will examine:
- How entrepreneurs who quickly build relationships, nurture online communities, motivate underpaid talent and multitask efficiently will come out winners
- How women are beginning to overcome the challenges of investor bias
- How “success” is being redefined as women change the playing field
The free live webinar airs Thursday, August 23rd 2012 from noon until 1:00pm PDT. Attendees must have an Internet connection and computer audio or a separate phone connection. Login instructions for the webinar are available on the Irvine Micropreneur Program website at http://www.irvinemicropreneur.com. Following her presentation, Krotz will answer attendees’ specific questions in a live Q&A session.
