The Samlerhuset Group was named the winner of a bronze Stevie® Award in the Communications or PR Campaign/Program of the Year – Reputation/Brand Management category in The 9th Annual International Business Awards.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 IBAs received entries from more than 50 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea on 15 October.

More than 3,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others. The Samlerhuset Group won bronze for the 1933 Double Eagle gold coin tour.

It was in March 2012 that the Samlerhuset Group and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History took the legendary US 1933 Double Eagle gold coin on a seven country European exhibition tour. The PR teams of both organizations worked in close collaboration using a strategic campaign to generate awareness and enthusiasm through media outreach, press events, blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

“The tour generated an unprecedented amount of media coverage in seven European countries and the U.S., excited many thousands to go see this fabulous US national treasure and demonstrated how innovative international partnerships between corporate and cultural sectors bring value to the world", said Karen Lee, numismatic curator, National Museum of American History.

Peter Swanston, CEO of the Samlerhuset Group, said: “Samlerhuset aims to bring the joy of coin collecting to everyone. The 1933 Double Eagle tour was a unique event organised for a unique coin. Throughout Europe, those who knew about it before were amazed to see it; those who learnt about it for the first time were even more impressed. We are proud to have that achievement recognised with a Stevie Award.”

Stevie® Award winners were selected by more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.

“Entries to the IBAs grew substantially this year,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “Despite slow economic conditions in much of the world, the quality of nominations was outstanding, demonstrating that there are many companies that are innovating and growing regardless. We’re looking forward to celebrating this year’s Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie winners at our gala event in Seoul on 15 October.”
