Rapid Recovery Solution, a debt collection agency, acknowledges the arrest of Khemall Jokhoo, a debt collector who stole identities, defrauded financial institutions, and used harassing strategies in order to collect money

August 22nd, Rapid Recovery Solutions, a Long Island debt collection agency, reacts to an article published on the Star Tribune which sheds light on the arrest of debt collector Khemall “Kenny” Jokhoo, who defrauded financial institutions and stole identities by accessing consumer databases and credit bureaus.

According to the article, Jokhoo “had misrepresented himself as a lawyer, harassed debtors over extremely old, uncollectible accounts, made unauthorized withdrawals from debtors' financial institutions, cashed forged checks and concealed a prior criminal record on at least seven state license applications since 2005.” The Star Tribune explains that investigators obtained search warrants to search Jokhoo’s apartment where they seized evidence implicating Jokhoo was involved in bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

The article states that Jokhoo had used increasingly inappropriate and aggressive tactics when collecting, accessing social security numbers, employment history, and additional personal information, using a product by LexisNexis called Accurint for Collections. After obtaining this information, Jokhoo was able to contact people and harass them for money. In addition, Star Tribune explains that Jokhoo called financial institutions and impersonated people.

According to John Monderine, CEO of debt collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution, Inc., “This is a perfect example of criminals not caring about the laws. This criminal’s actions will just make things harder for the law abiding debt collection agencies.”

According to the article, “Lonsdale police and investigators with the Minnesota Financial Crimes Task Force searched Jokhoo's home and seized checks, financial documents and two computers that contained the personal information of victims and business records for Jokhoo's firm.” Jokhoo was being investigated since February of 2010 and had finally been arrested, bringing an end to his aggressive and illegal debt collection methods.
