The Vaginal Mesh Helpline is reaching out to grandchildren and children of senior women with complications from the vaginal mesh. The mesh helpline wants grandchildren and children to act on the behalf of their loved ones to get medical and file a mesh lawsuit.

Vaginal Mesh Helpline has launched a Florida mesh outreach program for Florida grandmas implanted with the vaginal mesh. The program reaches out to children and grandchildren and encourages them to act as a spokesperson for their parent or grandparent who may not be able to act on her own behalf.

Florida currently has a very large senior community. Many of the Florida senior women present problems such as urinary incontinence, bladder and bowel prolapse and uterine prolapse that comes with the aging process. Many Florida senior women over the age of 65 and as old as 86 have been implanted with bladder slings and vaginal mesh devices to attempt to correct these problems. However, these Prolene synthetic implants have been falling apart causing severe complications in women. The has Florida vaginal mesh lawyers filing lawsuits for Florida seniors in: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Ocala, Port St Lucie, Tavares, Orlando, The Villages, Ft Myers, Jacksonville and all of Florida. The helpline wants to reach all seniors with a mesh to help them get medical care and file a mesh lawsuit immediately.

"Some of the big concerns for our seniors in Florida" Says Lisa Spitzer MSW who runs the helpline "is the ability to bounce back from these complications. Many of our seniors have become so debilitated from the mesh that they can no longer spend time with and enjoy their grandchildren. Many have just given up".

According to the the surgical mesh is nothing new. It has been used since the 1950s for reinforcing internal tissues and abdominal wall lining. It was originally intended for the repair of severe hernia cases. However, as a prolapse and incontnence cure it has wrecked havoc on the lives of our mothers and grnadmas.
The big concern the mesh helpline has with senior womwn is the perforation of the bladder or bowel and the relentless pain.According to Lisa Spitzer MSW "Our older women, especially those over 80 with the mesh, do not have the stamina or motivation to hold on. Infection can lead to sepsis and be fatal. Ongoing infection can effect the heart, lungs and other organs."" We get calls from grandchildren that are concerned about their grandmas and children about their mothers with severe medical problems from the vaginal mesh."

The vaginalmeshhelpline offers medical help, lawyer referral and information. The offers an overview of the mesh and informs us that the mesh is intended to reinforce the vaginal wall muscles that weaken with the aging process. Menopause very often leads to incontinence as the decrease in estrogen effects the strength of the vaginal wall.

During menopause, estrogen levels in the body drop dramatically. Estrogen is responsible for keeping the urethra and the lining of the bladder healthy. It also stimulates blood flow to the pelvic region, increasing strength in the pelvic muscles. As your estrogen drops, you may find that your pelvic muscles are simply weaker than they were before. These muscles may not have enough strength to hold the opening to your bladder closed. This is what causes the unwanted leakage of urine. Pregnancy and vaginal birth can contribute to weakened pelvic muscles in menopausal women, as can the natural aging process.

There are a number of different types of incontinence including: stress incontinence, urge incontinence and mixed Incontinence. Not all of these really require a mesh but, the mesh was being implanted by many doctors without a full understanding of the potential complications as mesh manufacturers pushed the product through without sufficient testing. It is currently known that over 300,000 women have vaginal mesh implants. The mesh has been used to reinforce:

    Womb prolapse
    Vaginal Prolapse
    Prolapse of the bladder (Cystocele)
    Prolapse of the urethra (Urethrocele)
    Prolapse of the rectum (Rectocele)

The complications associated with prolapse have become the complications associated with the mesh as the mesh begins to deteriorate in the womans body.
