Better accountability, more accurate patient documentation and reduced mileage charges are some of the early benefits that we have seen with the new CellTrak point of care solution.

Caring Hospice has been providing hospice services since 1997 and currently provides Hospice services in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York via 6 offices.

Caring Hospice has been using homecare technologies for clinical and scheduling needs for several years. They were interested in further automation and reduction of the paperwork required to document home care visits and importantly were interested reducing their mileage reimbursement expenses as gas prices were hitting an all time high. Caring Hospice selected and implemented the new point-of-care visit manager solution from CellTrak™. For the mobile hospice care staff, Caring Hospice chose the robust Sanyo Pro GPS and LG Optimus enabled phone devices running on the Sprint network.

Betty Jennings, CFO at Caring Hospice Services shared, “Better accountability, more accurate patient documentation and reduced mileage charges are some of the early benefits that we have seen with the new CellTrak point of care solution. The integration with Allscripts is important to insure seamless integration of data between the two systems. We are pleased with progress so far and look forward to the continued enhancements to the solution by both Allscripts and CellTrak”.

Caring Hospice strives to serve each family according to their needs. For some, it means allowing family members to generally supervise the patient with assistance from our caregivers. For others, it means allowing Caring Hospice to assume greater responsibility for the patients needs. Importantly the usage of CellTrak has helped caregivers spend more time on care and less time on paperwork.

Michael K. Wons, President and CEO of CellTrak Technologies added, “Caring Hospice has quickly adopted the new integrated mobile point of care solution which combines the depth and strength of two industry leading homecare solution providers combined with the strength and flexibility of the Sprint network” Wons added that “the new integrated solution continues to improve and work to address the automation needs enabling the care team to spend more time on care and less time on paperwork.”

In addition to the integrated visit verification features of the solution, CellTrak helps take the guess work out of calculating mileage with its GPS features. It also gives staff members the ability to get directions from wherever they are to a patient’s home.
