Singapore (PRWEB) August 27, 2012

MobileApps.com Pte Ltd, a startup company based in Singapore has announced that they have closed their website and is putting up the domain name MobileApps.com for sale. Initially launched as an app discovery solution for developers targeting direct consumers, the company is re-purposing its original solution to target the B2B market.

With the shift of focus from B2C to B2B, the consumer-centric domain name does not serve its purpose any more and will be sold, according to company officials.

"We bought the domain name because it is highly marketable and easy to remember. The generic English keywords in the domain also create an instant brand which is defensible against copyrights, " said Alvin Koay, CEO & founder of MobileApps.com.

The global mobile app market has exploded in the recent years and according to a report by Research2Guidance, the app development services market will grow to $100 billion by 2015. To own such a "category-defining" web address in a multi-billion dollar global industry is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

High value generic domain names have always been considered good investments. Some of the largest reported domain name sales were:

Sex.com($13MM),
Fund.com($9.99MM)
Casino.com($5.5MM)
CreditCards.com($2.75MM)

As more companies start to move their businesses online, good domain names will only go up in price.
