Founded by Norton Spiel in 1963, Spiel Associates (http://spielassociates.com) has been solving bindery problems, making innovations to bindery equipment, distributing binding machines, and reconditioning used machines for sale worldwide. The business has since been passed onto Norton’s sons: Michael, Saul, and David. As the 50-year Milestone approaches, Spiel Associates does not plan on losing a single step in the bindery business. This year in particular has given Spiel Associates plenty to celebrate.
After partnering with Route 72 Systems for an aggressive Internet marketing campaign, recent success was had by their showing at the On Demand Expo earlier in June as well as a sale of two Sterling Coilmakers to Zebra Binding System of Mexico City, as well as three other sales in Mexico. Their partnership with Route 72 Systems is set to keep their strong presence known throughout the online global marketplace for many years to come. Jim Alamia, Founder and CEO and Route 72 Systems states: “This 50 Year Anniversary is an accomplishment as well as a new beginning for Spiel Associates. Their continued effort to spread content about themselves and their products throughout the digital market is a huge step in the right direction for the future of their company.”
Over the years, they have gone from selling bindery equipment imported from Europe to manufacturing their own bindery machines, which are now distributed all over the world. After having invented the world's first automatic plastic coil binder, the first automatic plastic coil binder and former, they introduced the first table top, automatic plastic coil binder. The table top Coilmaster Jr. has made its way into binderies, commercial printers, quick printers, and dozens of in-plants and government agencies.
There is no doubt that the marketplace has changed from their beginnings 50 years ago. Spiel Associates has been able to withstand changes in the economy and marketplace because as the marketplace continues to evolve, Spiel has been able to adapt their marketing strategies to those changes. Jim Alamia states: “With the combination of our digital marketing expertise and their respected old school tactics, we have been able to create the perfect platform for Spiel’s success in the expanding niche marketplace. We have no doubt that Spiel’s ambition and persistence will pay off just as it did years ago.”
