The leading data conference in the country recognizes Risk I/O’s vulnerability management solution.

Risk I/O has announced that is a recipient of a Top Innovator Award by the DataWeek Conference. Risk I/O received the award for excellence in Security/e-Governance, one of over a dozen categories highlighting innovative areas of the data industry. DataWeek is a six-day conference and festival in downtown San Francisco and is used as a platform for data-centric companies to discuss how Big Data can be harnessed. It is currently the largest data-centric conference in the nation.

“We are very excited to receive this award and join the other innovative companies who have been recognized for excellence in data,” said Ed Bellis, CEO and co-founder of Risk I/O. “We believe that given the right data, people can make insightful business decisions very rapidly. This is one of the core values we build into our product.”

Risk I/O is a vulnerability management platform that connects automated vulnerability scanning solutions from web application, host, network and database vulnerability assessment tools, and centralizes all vulnerability managing, monitoring and reporting functions. They are a big proponent of data-driven security, and have very specific use cases for data that they are building into their product. They’ve taken a quantitative approach to their security and operations, and have not only been able to more effectively prioritize their work, but have learned where their product needs to evolve to support and enable these methods.

“We are happy to recognize some of the best talent in the industry today,” said Geoff Domoracki, CEO of DataWeek. “We would like to create a platform for innovative companies to have a forum to discuss how big data can be harnessed. In an information economy, data is the new capital. Corporations are unlocking the value in their terabytes of data, city governments are opening up their city data for public use, and thousands of “data startups” are building on top of emerging social data feeds. The Data Revolution is when business and society realizes that data is not just how you analyze your business: data is your business. We succeed in business, technology, and society when we join a new ecosystem of data feeds, data infrastructure, data technologies, and data markets.”
