John McGonigal Joins Smart Devine as Managing Director in Their Accounting and Business Advisory Practice

John will assist both public and private companies with financial reporting requirements, accounting consultation and guidance through complex transactions.

John is a highly experienced executive providing a wide range of accounting and business advisory services with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, due diligence services, accounting consultation and SEC reporting matters to companies in the manufacturing and distribution, wholesale and retail, services, and private equity industries. John has nearly 25 years of experience working with the evolving issues facing companies subject to SEC reporting requirements as well as providing leadership on strategic transactions to public and privately-held companies. John’s global experience coordinating accounting, audit and advisory services, along with his expertise in managing IPO’s, mergers, dispositions, public and private debt offerings, and the SEC comment letter process, all bring added depth to his perspective.

Prior to joining Smart Devine, John was an Audit Partner for a national accounting firm, the Managing Partner of Audit for a regional accounting firm and spent over 21 years with Ernst & Young, seven of those years as a Partner in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services group.
